Andar Ki Baat is a Pakistan based platform, launched in 2026, focusing on process, reflections, and unseen aspects of studio practice.
The platform documents and archives conversations with practicing artists, centering what usually remains unseen; uncertainty, pauses, doubt, and the reality of being present with your work as an artist.
Artists are constantly asked to explain their work, to refine it, and present it in ways that fit institutional or professional spaces. In that process, much of what actually shapes the work stays behind, within our bodies: hesitation, effort, doubt, and persistence. This platform is a space for those significant yet seemingly insignificant parts of practice.
The platform recognises making as a form of knowledge in itself, one that is felt, embodied, and experienced. While the conditions of making are shaped by place, the sentiment of being an artist exceeds language, geography, and categorisation.
Andar Ki Baat is not concerned with success, visibility, or validation, but with staying alongside the work even when it feels uncertain or unfinished. It aims to grow as an archive of shared process, where artists can recognise themselves in one another’s experiences and feel less alone in the act of making.

How do I get featured?
You can reach out directly via —, or be recommended by someone in the AKB community. Artists are also approached directly by AKB based on their practice.
Is there a selection process?
Not in the sense of curating who’s “worthy”, that’s not a decision AKB is here to make. The platform’s aim is to archive, not to gatekeep, so as long as an artist’s goals align with what AKB believes in, they can be featured. The only real limiting factor is capacity: this is currently run solo, so volume has to be managed to make sure every interview gets the time it deserves.
Is there any payment?
No, Andar Ki Baat is currently a non-commercial, independent platform. Interviews are collaborative and unpaid on both sides. There’s no fee to be featured, and no payment made to artists for participating.
I don’t have a studio space, can I still be featured?
Yes, of course. “Studio” here refers to your practice and process, not a physical space. Many artists work from home, shared spaces, or informally, and that’s very much part of what AKB wants to document. A dedicated studio isn’t a requirement to participate.
How is the interview carried out?
Interviews are conducted in written form. To give artists more authority over the conversation, a pre-interview form is sent first which helps AKB understand the artist’s practice, interests, and areas of concern before any questions are drafted. Each conversation is then tailored around what surfaces in that form, rather than working from a fixed set of questions.
How much say do I have in the interview editing and process?
As much as you’d like. You can request specific things for how your interview is handled — whether that’s reviewing it before it’s published, having a say in what’s included, or any other preference around how your piece is curated. It’s not a fixed process on our end so if there’s something you want done a certain way, just let us know.
How long does it take before the interview gets published?
It varies. Typically 4-8 weeks between the interview and publication, depending on scheduling, editing, and the current queue.
